Bronze, Steel, Plaster and Wax Sculpture
Ray started his formal sculptural study with Florence Knoll at Columbia University in 1970. But, his largest body of work was made while studying at the Art Students League with Oscar Garcia from 2007 to 2019. Working in wax, steel, bronze and plaster, and incorporating “found objects” like chains, wedges, bolts and bricks, he created “narrative” pieces that focus on themes of suppression.
