"Hidden Abstract" Photography
Leonardo Davinci wrote in his book that an artist should look at stains on rocks and walls for inspiration. Ray’s interpretation of that was to look at everyday things that are often overlooked. While standing on the subway platform in NYC he photographed rust on the columns. While walking the streets of Soho he photographed torn posters and graffiti. While walking in the woods he photographed roots, stumps and other things of abstract beauty.
